In 2014, Chennai became the first Indian city to adopt a Non-Motorized Transport Policy and it mandates that a minimum of 60 percent of the Corporation’s transport budget is allocated to construct and maintain NMT infrastructure. Though the ULB has shown immense efforts in the design and planning of the streets, the management aspect lacks efficiency and has limited provision in the policy. The site T.Nagar comes under the Chennai Smart City project (ABD).
The study deals with stakeholder coordination & its framework process and mobilizing people to use the Multi-level parking system by recommending strategies and deriving efficient parking tariffs.
