Around the Walls

The location of the site is on a beach in Kochi; here the main climatic concerns are humidity and the harsh sun at a higher altitude. The building is designed with a concern to maximize the cross ventilation; the two laterite load bearing walls opens up towards wind ward side such that it acts like a funnel and accelerate the wind flow inside the building, fins are placed on either sides of the walls to aid the same. Homestay and residence are placed on either sides of the walls to maintain privacy while studio juts out centrally from the wall.
