Amoeba Art Centre

This studio focuses on design and analysis of Steel structures. The final outcome of this studio was an art centre located at Gandhinagar which was designed keeping both-architectural and structural concepts in mind. The design process of this art centre started out from taking inspiration from the lake adjoining the site given to us. Like water, I wanted the structure to be free-flowing and organic in nature. An umbrella-like roof is supported by a central column with beams pointing out in a radial pattern. These beams are supported by knee-brackets on the bottom and wire rope cable from the top.
