Excursion Art Center

The studio aims at cultivating one’s knowledge about steel as a material in construction. Through various case studies, assignments and problem statements, the studio makes one understand the technicalities and calculations behind steel construction and the design opportunities provided by the material. 
Through the acquired knowledge of space making and steel structure design, the output of the studio is an center design, located in Gandhinagar. Taking the salient features of the site in one hand and the versatility of structural steel in the other, Excursion Art Center is housed under a fusion of truss roof structures and a frame structure.  These structures are analysed and designed on STAAD-Pro software. After which, structural drawings are produced with the final steel sections.
