Migrant Housing

Surat is a city populated by migrants. In the Maan Darwaja area, along the creek, an alternative housing was proposed where the residents of the community could be relocated. The proposal for the housing took into account the poor light and ventilation in the existing site and proposed a hierarchy of open spaces throughout the site.  It also attempted at creating various shared spaces of different scales where the residents could gather for their live-work activities.
