Expandable Folding Table

The main focus of the studio was to learn about mechanism ,and taking this learning forward to create a piece of transformable furniture for compact houses. To start the process we studied different mechanism and furniture pieces in compact houses. For a compact house the floor area is restricted ,hence restricting the mobility. The idea of creating an expandable folding table was to save the floor area by using the vertical space. The furniture piece is a wall mounted unit which can be used to eat, study or work . And can it also be unfolded in a bigger surface if needed.
