Urban Breathing Spaces | Local Area Plan Proposal

With the Transit Oriented Zone regulations in place, the city of Ahmedabad now aims to develop denser urban cores along the transit lines in the City to control urban sprawl, and encourage use of public transit. The LAP approach for the delineated site along the drive-in road aims to transform the Gurukul MRT station area as a catalyst for redevelopment of the precinct and capitalize on the existing assets & available public land, to develop urban voids as vibrant public open spaces amidst the dense urban settlement. Therefore, the proposal intends to improve accessibility in the area and guide the upcoming development to ensure a harmonious built and open space environment for improved quality of life.
