This Housing Strategy Studio which is based in Surat is designed to equip us with the skill-sets and tools required to prepare a baseline housing profile in terms of need, demand and supply pattern of a city though analysis of various forms of primary and secondary data sources. Followed by techniques behind building future growth scenarios in terms of future need and demand with respect to socioeconomic and spatial growth patterns. Through these an enabling sub-strategy to optimize the transaction process and cost in conversion of land to built space is formulated. 

Introduction to the housing strategy studio.
Situation assessment with baseline analysis in terms of housing need, demand and supply pattern of Surat though various forms of primary and secondary data sources.
Envisioning the Future by building future growth scenarios for the horizon year of 2035 in terms of future need and demand with respect to socioeconomic and spatial growth patterns.
Establishing the housing affordability line of the City of Surat based on the Household survey of 2020, and placing the various sub-strategies over the income group schema.
Introduction to the enabling sub-strategy, Optimize the transaction process from land to built spaces.
Review of the current policies and frameworks, followed by identifying various flaws and limitations in the frameworks. Comparative perspectives from other Indian cities and countries in solving the problems.
Analyzing and comparing different transactions scenarios in development of land to built spaces in Surat.
Proposing alternative solutions and evaluations to streamline the transaction process. Analyzing the impact, scope and limitations of each alternative, and comparing with the existing scenario.
Capital Investment plans, prioritization and phasing.
Institutional and reform frameworks followed by reflections and learning outcomes.
