Madras Melody

The library, 'Madras Melody' aims to give out knowledge and information to the people of Chennai about the city's culture through the medium of the art form - Music (specifically, Classical music), located in an institutional area. The underlying concept of the library - Harmony helped in establishing the rapport between the people and the inner spaces. The interaction between each space and the spaces with the outside was evolved from using elements such as openings and furniture. The emphasise was given on achieving the harmonious balance between the built and the unbuilt and bringing in homely feeling in centre.
