Rang Maach

Libraries across the world are mainly known to have books as their main source of information and very few involve art as their primary source for imparting knowledge. Situated in Ujjain, the library, Rang Maach aims to impart knowledge through the medium of Maach which is a lyrical folk theatre and a form of ballet. 'Exchange' was an underlying concept that helped in developing layouts for each space and spaces adjoining them. The entire process involved reimagining a library from inside out, understanding the elements of space making, light requirements, its ambience and the key idea of exchange.
