The site (Castor Oil factory) is located at Khali, Mehsana to Sidhpur highway, Patan, Gujarat. The area chosen for the intervention is an office/reception space facing West with a beautiful front garden.
The design intent to built a performative envelope which functions for reduction of daylight and heat by not completely cutting down the natural light but providing different patterns in interior. It magnifies the interior space by adding aesthetically welcoming appearance to the exterior which merge two spaces. To make the design workable, climatic study and technology such as material-sensitive products : Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) having Shape Memory Effect (SME) is used.
