ELEMENTS OF URBAN DESIGN | UNDERSTANDING PUBLIC REALMS

The pedagogy of the studio is to make effective and communicating design diagrams, that can convey the strong strategies of futuristic development to the communities. To gain that studio is divided into two modules. In which module-1 focuses upon gaining an understanding of some of the key urban design elements i.e. street, urban block, public open spaces, and their appropriate scales and proportions in respect to an urban environment. To complete the loop here as a part of the second module, the proposal of reimaging the spaces underneath the flyover is being envisaged. The major focus of the design was to apply the major learnings and concepts learned through module-1 and implement them through design intervention. The major focus of the design was establishing pedestrian connectivity and make it walkable and accessible for the city and surrounding neighborhood. The final stage of the design process is and major learning throughout the whole studio is to make conveying visually appealing diagrams as a base, here the ideas are conveyed through montages, conceptual sketches, and 3D visualizations.
