Transit-Boutique Hotel

Transit-Boutique Hotel. The building is situated between Vadodara and earlier it was used for the maharaja's saloon. It's a linear narrow building with huge volume and a series of arch openings on either side of the building.In this adaptive re-use space, the program was approached through the immediate context. It is in close proximity to the railway station, bus stand, and other tourist places around. One can see a lot of business people and travelers commuting hence the existing site becomes a transit space. Addition & weaving were the adaptive methodologies used in designing taken from the kintsugi model.
