Rediscovering Sangath

A study of Sangath revealed some critical problems. The iconic vaults make for dark and dingy spaces and the treatment of the facade made ventilation, light and any kind of visual connection with the wonderful garden impossible. Our intervention seeks to address these issues while accommodating the growing needs of the office. We found that once we removed the vaults, we unlocked tremendous potential to solve the many issues and also expand the project vertically, without adding to the existing footprint. New and meaningful spatial relationships are discovered and the garden is made an integral part of the everyday experience.
