Elphinstone Estate has a well-established design-to-manufacturing-to-transportation network, but it’s a jumble. The idea is to link the network with a public interface, the potential for diversity, promoting local art and crafts, and establishing co-working standards, among other things. Activation of public plazas, retail shops, and the central volume containing exhibition space, atrium, auditorium, and cafes occurs during the day, as well as after 6 p.m., where the ground plane and void are triggered. The transformation elements comprising public space, such as exhibitions, libraries, and atriums, link the measure holders, NSIC, and co-working space.
