Anchor - A place for Prayer

Within the sanctuary of the first Gandhi Ashram- Kocharab Ashram,  this space for prayer symbolises the belief of being in the present as an act of prayer - to improve oneself and purify the soul.
Anchor works on the relationship between the landscape and the built to introduce an atmosphere that is tranquil, calm and harmonious and through this, catalyse the connection to the present. The place simply co-operates with the act of praying - providing for the need of the individual. whether it may be reading, praying in groups, praying alone or  a space for working.
