Wastewater management is a crucial part along with solid waste and water supply, and it also put an impact on economy. Nearly 80% of wastewater is released into the environment untreated, creating burden on valuable resources and dilapidating them. The most vulnerable to the adverse effects of water pollution and health hazards related to it are the Slums. slum densification and requirement for water is putting charge on the existing infrastructure to maintain adequate supply of water and discharge of sewerage. Increasing the use of treated wastewater will help the city to achieve the sustainable wastewater management by 2037.
