G+14 Residential Building, Positioning of Shear Wall

The G+14 building is located in Guwahati, Assam. The project involves the design and detailing of the building under the effect of gravity loading and lateral loading as per the latest codal provisions. The problem statement of this project was to explore and compare different positioning of shear walls in the building, and propose different alternative arrangements of shear walls in the plan like centrally located, peripheral walls, and long walls. Compare the behaviour of different cases in terms of the effectiveness of walls, stiffness, and displacement.
