The studio focus is detailing a design to the smallest possible layer and then creating an architecture that comes solely out of structure and material. It began with creating an opening system with a rotational input leading to translational output. A sliding folding window was created by designing, detailing, and implementing a pulley mechanism. Next, a cantilever staircase was designed and modeled along with a spanning system. All of this came together to form a Paper Workshop, a part of the City Youth Center. The workshop is a factory, exhibition space, and training center.
