O Festejo

The site is an old Portuguese mansion that is to be converted into an F and B outlet. It is located within 600 m from the beach in Candolim, surrounded by hotels, home-stays, retail stores, and residences. There is no stand-alone 5-star restaurant in the neighborhood with a Goan architectural style as all are a part of the hotels which are in new construction. As the site is a Portuguese mansion, there is a Goan architectural style to it but, to give a different experience, my idea is either to add to it or to contrast it. As I went further in the design process, I built my concept around adding dynamic elements and curvy linear forms that contrast and break the static appearance that Goan architecture has. I propose to provide a combination of Bar + Fine dining that serves Goan cuisine and All day dinner that serves continental food. Outdoor barbeque and live music add to the experience at the restaurant.
