This research presents explorations of 2D tessellations elaborated towards interlocking visuals on at plan. And 2D planar assemblies in 3rd dimensions while expanding on explored and studied particular rules-based growth. This paper discovers and invents rules of assemblies while rotating, mirroring, and fipping planar units in 3rd dimension. It explains the visual quality of assembly based on rules which are followed to generate a unit. It also throws light upon structural strength, form, Scale, its functions, and materiality. The assemblies were generated in digital manner and with cardboard physical explorations to the idea of how deferent mediums provide flexibilities and learnings and exploration. Keywords: interlocking, planar units, visual quality, materiality
