EVALUATING EFFICIENCY OF URBAN BUS TRANSPORT OPERATIONS

The research focuses on understanding efficiency and evaluating the efficiency of operations through Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), which is one method that takes into multiple outputs (e.g. revenue, ridership, etc.) produced as well as multiple inputs (e.g. population, no of buses, route length, etc.) consumed during operations. 9 BRT undertakings from national and 4 international practices were taken for the research then data collection of various indicators was done for the analysis. Six models were developed for the data analysis and data modeling was done on each model based on the results, all models were compared and on the basis of that efficient and inefficient undertakings were identified. Based on the results Interpretations of results were done based on all the models.
