Koteshwar Wilderness

The DRP aims to highlight the value of biodiversity in Koteshwar. In Europe, scientific and academic research studies have been successful in changing the perception of the citizens towards spontaneous urban nature. Urban wilderness sites are protected and even replicated in design to achieve a wilderness aesthetic in parks and landscapes. In India, over the past century, taxonomic documentation of urban biodiversity has been taking place but that still has not reached its potential of changing the cultural perception towards spontaneous nature in cities. There is a need to define and understand the cultural, ecological and political effect of urbanization on urban wilderness sites.
