Adaptable Neighbourhoods

While understanding mass housing, the project tries to explore the design through a sensitive vision of community living. The site of Gulbai Tekra in Ahmedabad is a neighborhood of the Bawri Marwari community. Through the project a dwelling for them is designed with the idea of creating of a micro neighborhood that might retain the existing character of the fabric. The new design aspires to retain the aspects of close vicinity in units and overlapping of public and shared spaces while finding opportunities for a live and work environment.
