The twin cities of Bharuch and Ankleshwar enjoy a strategic location with the river Narmada passing right through it and Ankleshwar GIDC contributing the most to the economy. Being one of the oldest port towns, historical built is found in the core city of Bharuch. Moreover, upcoming projects like PCPIR, HSRC, Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, etc. are expected to bring tremendous growth to the region. However, the significance is outweighed by the issues of industrial pollution and steady growth. Thus, the idea is to prepare a Development Plan for 2041 to re-strengthen the cities on the grounds of livability and economy.
