The aim of the studio is to develop a housing strategy for the city to expand choices of affordable housing to all income groups. Through my strategy the approach has been to provide city with services land so that issue of housing unaffordability can be solved. Also, it aims at framing policies, programs, and regulations that will provide assistance throughout all income groups. Analysing the existing framework and current scenario of serviced land we understood why serviced land is important for the housing sector and how it gets affected because of short supply in the case of Rajkot city. There were some reforms suggested in the existing Gujarat Town Planning and Urban Development Act, 1976 as well as some local-level reforms to speed up the process of delivery of serviced land to the market.

Introduction to the Housing Strategy Studio
Situation Assessment in terms of demographic, economic, spatial and real estate growth trends.
Envisioning the future of Rajkot for 2032: Analysing demand and supply needs and projections for Year 2032 and housing principles to achieve the vision.
Identifying the affordability line and placing the basket of sub-strategies on the income pyramid.
E1: Improved delivery of serviced land to the market - Problem statement, stakeholder mapping, reviewing the current policy frame work, GTPUDA Act, and identifying current symptoms of the problem.
Analyzing root causes of the problem and limitations of current framework and current scenario of Rajkot.
