A marine ecology center was designed in Diu, reflecting Gurjit Singh Matharoo's attitude towards his work. The concept started with the idea of a "wave" engulfing and aggregating spaces. This wave was enforced through a single curved wall running through the entire structure enclosing and engulfing spaces while also getting washed with light. The panoramic views and climate of the site were kept in mind. A brise soleil was added as weather protection giving views and also enforcing enclosure. The aquarium the heart of the project was imagined as an embryonic space with huge glass water tanks of varying heights that surround you from all sides giving you a feeling of being underwater and a slit-like opening that brings in reflection of water onto the ceiling. The element of water was enforced by adding a meandering water body that wrapped around the building.
