Dissolving Dualities: A Place for Death, but Life

The project looks at the contrasting aspects of the site: the association with death brought by the crematorium and the Cemetary, and the association with life brought by the Art and Expression Center as an extension of the monument. These associations are of the people from the City at large, and the people of the community in immediate proximity. Through the manifestation of these contrasting programmatic aspects, with the neutral Children's Cultural Center for the minors of the Basti, the dualities of the site are relooked at through a different lens, that perhaps enhances or mellows down experiences associated with them.
