MEPF : Academic Block, IIM Ahmedabad

This Studio focuses on the MEPF: Services, Design and Coordination. In the starting, we were asked to select a different type of project to study for the whole semester and have to work on the design of services like HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and Fire. We referred to different codes during the semester for the design. By using codes and using thumb rules calculations were done for the services. Designing the services was done in AutoCAD, there were 2D drawings. During the studio, we have a site visit to ITC Narmada Hotel, Ahmedabad, which was a very helpful visit. We saw different services and ways of doing things and have implemented them in our projects. We have explored Revit Software as a part of designing and representation purposes. After a Service is done we have to make a Revit template of the particular service and have to see if there are any clashes in the structural member or if there is any level issue or not. In the end, the templates were combined and was studied to see if there is any clash in the services.
