Planning & Design of ODR at Thol

The focus of this studio is on the challenge of planning and designing a suitable road alignment in areas where natural and built environment effects are significant. For the purpose of generating a suitable solution, civil and infrastructure engineering principles and techniques will be used to aid in the analysis and design of the road route and its pavements. Students will be able to propose their own alignment, design of its elements, quantity calculations, parametric studies, and road safety analysis based on the exercises and discussions provided for existing roadways and supporting facilities. Advanced mapping techniques such as 3D Model, DSM, and drive-through video will be used to teach skill-building for visualization and analysis of collected data.
