RENEWAL- A PLACE TO STAY

The program is to build a space for a painter, sculptor, chef and theatre artist where four of them have their individual space to work yet bring such a kinetic element which clubs all these four together and adds an exciting & memorable experience. The concept of the dwelling is from a music piece by Ian Wong called the RENEWAL and the theme is to build a space to stay. The whole space is designed in an organic and orthographicThe kinetic facade is a curved wall having a span of 8m, which moves in and out in a radial direction using an angulated scissor mechanism and various kits of parts. All in all, the idea is to have a kinetic wall which maintains privacy when in a closed stage and in an open condition, it provides transparency to the outside, also becoming a direct entrance for the ground floor. manner which follows the key elements of the music.
