Archway to Sustainability: A community center

This community center is located on the riverfront of Sabarmati River, Ahmedabad and focuses on least energy consumption for a sustainable environment. The center comprises of selling, training and administration spaces led by women. It aims to achieve minimal heat gains, maximum ventilation and daylighting for optimum thermal comfort of users, through innovative passive design strategies like going underground, vault roof, evaporative cooling through pond, courtyard effect and green roofs. Brick cavity wall with insulation. triple glazed openings and shading devices further help cool down the building. This project is built for mother nature by the mothers of nature.
