THE PUBLIC LINK

In our city, it is generally observed that while men have the ability to create leisure spaces for them, lack of opportunity for leisure in public spaces, especially for women, compels them to legitimize their presence in public spaces through purpose. The vision of the project and the studio is to create more opportunities of leisure for women and to increase and enhance their stay in public spaces especially after working hours. Moreover, it is observed that women have to take care of their children while working which further limits their presence in the public space. Hence, providing infrastructure such as public toilets, bus stops, play area, a better pedestrian experience and formal vending spaces to encourage diversity of women into the public space and give them right to the city.
