Among the various lateritic Midland plateaus spread across Goa, Assagao is a Village, in North Goa located within the Bardez Taluka, surrounded by three sides by these hillocks which harbor Springs. These Springs and their water outflow are used by the Community of Gaud Saraswat Brahmins and Christians as a resource. This Common Pool resource not only feeds the Village’s water table but also acts as a source of potable water, has healing benefits, and supports orchard plantations and rabi crop cultivations. Recently this resource has been overused to exhaustion by foreign inhabitants. The intent is to reconnect this Common Pool resource as a Network to the Community and make it resilient.
