Geotechnical Parameters: Influencing Foundation Design

Through a foundation design pedagogy, the studio attempted to provide an insight into the nuances of Geotechnical Engineering. Several topics were explored to gain a fundamental understanding of the subject. Following that, a site visit to Vapi was made, where a borehole was excavated and samples were collected. The samples were evaluated in the laboratory, and the data was used to construct a bridge that could withstand various stresses. Suitable foundation systems such as Isolated, Rafts, and Piles were used for the structure. The technique of soil enhancement was also discussed in the education.
