Recommendations for improving green cover

Sustainability of the environment in semi-arid regions like Rajkot is essential. To cater to the environmental issues of Rajkot, like the soaring temperature and the city’s degrading air quality, this study intends to develop a phase-wise suggestion for green cover. Monthly dynamics of Land Surface Temperature and Air quality index were studied and co-related to understand their impacts on land use and land cover. A phase-wise suggestion was proposed by utilizing the environmental factors to provide smart solutions for the local authorities to develop a better framework for their functioning. This study can be further designed by doing simulations and predictions for replication in other semi-arid regions of the country.
