The visitor’s orientation center at Chittor Fort reflects SelgasCano’s attitude towards designing. The idea is to bring back the memory of the trees that were present on the site and to create shaded spaces from where visitors and local people can enjoy the beautiful vista of the city. The building builds a narrative of walking under the trees and is in constant dialogue with the fort wall. The form allows fluid movement, and the canopy acts as an aggregator and binds all the spaces together. The spaces are shaded by the canopy for the majority of the day, and the bougainvillea adds color and playfulness to the space while reducing the heat.
