As an urban designer, I am excited to introduce a new project aimed at creating a vibrant and welcoming space for people who have just taken up jobs in a new city. Moving to a new city can be a daunting experience, especially when it comes to finding suitable and affordable housing. Our goal is to provide a comfortable and community-driven living experience that is more than a hostel but less than an independent house.The project will also take into considerations the topic of "productive loneliness".

Exercise 1 : Photogrammetry | In this exercise we as a class were tasked to use tools such as polycam, cloud compare and metashare to create 3d renders of our own individual spaces. The space pictured here is the CEPT boys hostel.
Exercise 2 : Analysis of the space | In this part we studies the spaces that we has used photogrammetry to map and understand about the habits that are included in it and some distinct features that makes the space feel comfortable.
Exercise 2 : Analysis of the space | Going outside the walls of the room, we come to understand that just like the spaces that are created inside the room, spaces are even created outside it with a lot of distinct features and relations that are understood through mapping.
Exercise: Development of program | The first step is to create a shape our outline of what out space would look like, Because as stated above this is a space that does not have to be an evolution of an existing structure, so why should the facade share features of existing and ideas of an already existing building.
Exercise: Selection of site | The space being chosen for the intervention The space was selected through a variety of criterias and the space that was finally taken was the AES grounds next to the CEPT boys hostel.
Exercise: Stacking | As inferred from the derivation of the shapes, we had two shapes that had to be used, and this method was used to create the most efficient way of stacking for a space.
Exercise: Designing | The design was eventually made into a space with multiple spaces and floors with and incrementally angled designed on each floor.
Exercise: Designing the units | The units where the users were to live was to be designed as well and hence, we understand that the space was to be designed vertically so that the footprint for it was low
Exercise: Designing the units | This is the design of the the second typology present in the space.
Exercise: Renderings | To get a better idea of what the space looks like for a person standing in it, renders of the space were taken from various angles.
