The studio is structured as an introduction to urban design representation and how it is used as a means of design of public places. The premise is that urban design is best understood and expressed through the study and representation of the built urban environment. Hence, the studio is focused on the study and representation of the key urban elements in cities and is structured in multiple modules running through the semester, each culminating with an exhibition of the outcome. These modules are significantly focuses on effectively capturing and communicating the spatial qualities of the urban built environment. 

The Hathmati Canal development project is a great initiative that aims to bring together the two parts of the city and provide an area for social interactions. The project has efficiently addressed the challenge of water management in a dry region, allowing the canal to hold water throughout the year. The self-financing mechanism of the project is also a great idea, ensuring that the revenue generated from the proposed development is used to fund upcoming developments. Overall, the Hathmati Canal development project is a well-planned initiative that addresses the needs of the community while promoting sustainable development but somehow failed the project.
Involving the local community and stakeholders in the planning process is essential for the long-term success of urban development projects. Developers should seek to understand the needs and preferences of the community and design projects that address their concerns and priorities to build trust and support for the project.
This exercise is designed to develop a strategic understanding of various attributes regarding Urban Blocks and their components –Building Types, Streets and Urban open spaces. The idea behind the exercises is to identify and represent the prevailing urban blocks in cities and develop their skills to draw these blocks and their three-dimensional form that abstracts the character of the blocks.
Overall, creating a child-friendly street requires a holistic approach that prioritizes the safety, health, and well-being of children.
This exercises is the final design exercise that focuses on reimagining existing scenarios in the city with a fresh perspective on the opportunities in the public domain. The selected Urban space transformation is informed by the thorough analysis of the hard (physical features and infrastructure) and soft (human interactions & relationships and policy and planning framework) aspects of the Paldi ward. The analysis must include the value of the chosen urban space within the immediate network. The conclusion must have key details that will help with the implementation of the design. The design should have strategies for material usage, outdoor furniture, lighting, landscape and infrastructure and provide multiple uses throughout the day, seasons, or on special occasions.

Overall, the structure of the studio seems well thought out and comprehensive, providing us with a strong foundation in urban design representation and practical experience in applying design thinking to real-world urban design problems. The culmination of the studio, developing a communication strategy through effective representation of the existing and proposed scenarios, is a critical skill for urban designers by incorporating multiple modules focused on different aspects of urban design. Being able to effectively communicate design proposals to stakeholders and the public is essential for gaining support and implementing successful urban design solutions.
