The studio was designed to provide an introductory understanding of urban design representation and its application in design thinking. The central idea was that studying and representing the built urban environment was crucial for comprehending and expressing urban design. The studio emphasized the examination, representation, and design of crucial urban elements in cities through various modules that ran throughout the semester. Each module concluded with an exhibition of the outcomes, and the emphasis was on effectively capturing and communicating the spatial qualities of the urban built environment, with a focus on designing public spaces. The studio comprised several modules, each structured in two parts. The first part focused on recognizing and representing the fundamental elements of urban design that converged to form any functional urban space. The second part focused on the design of public places. This studio was intended to enable students to study urban design effectively and gain practical design skills through hands-on experience.
