An Environmentally and Economically Resilient Surat

Surat is very well known for its thriving diamond, textile and petrochemical industries. The diversifying economies and upcoming growth corridors on the East are escalating the process of urbanization in Surat. However, the environment is neglected in this process leading to degradation of quality of life. Adopting the resilient approach, the proposed Development Plan aims to create a robust, inclusive and livable  urban ecosystem providing and promoting environmentally sustainable solutions, along with facilitating the economic growth. A liberal and mixed-use zoning and regulatory approach facilitate the market driven development whereas some areas have restrictions for the betterment of city.
