In Ahmedabad, each vacant land has its unique components, its own character and it influences the people who live around it. People use the space because of its anonymous nature and its accessibility. The vacant land demands a flexible system that allows the user group to use the space on their own uniquely and also should be addressing the city scale issues at the same time. The problem observed in the city scale, basic infrastructure is not being provided in the open gathering spaces. Within this neighborhood, the vacant land is being used as a central/gathering space by the people who live around it. In Arbudanagar ground, Vastral,The market area functions only in the morning time on this site and moves to another site in the evening. Even marriages and other big events happen here with a temporary structure laid over. The temporary movement of the market and the way people treat this space as a gathering space and not letting anything build permanently adds character to the site. The problem observed was the market edge of the site has the potential of activating the space but it is not being done. So, the site demands an armature which addresses neighborhood-scale matters and provides needful infrastructure for the market, performance space, and other gathering activities which can happen. At the neighborhood level, it should be designed to create a rich and diverse environment that should be able to adapt the different functions which will be happening. It will be addressing infrastructural needs for the functions and benefiting neighborhoods and local vendors. The armature should also allow a wide range of activities happening around it, and it will be a place that allows users to influence their own urban fabric by plugging into it. The design must have flexibility and allow the needs, desires, values, lifestyles of the people happening within it.
