The site is in Gajoldoba, near Teesta barrage, within close vicinity to the river Teesta and surrounded by Baikunthapura forest. Most of the way to the location is a lovely road that runs beside one of the many irrigation canals. The concept speaks about tracing the path of some of the migratory birds in and around Gajoldoba from different regions and altitudes, to their living habitat in their migration period. It also speaks about the forest, which has three subdivisions depending upon the growth of flora, which also provides certain conditions for the birds and therefore implying different living conditions. The idea is to resonate the travel paths of the birds directly into design and also extract their living conditions and adaptive methods to support the design process of the interiors and also architecturally at points possible. Different characterstics of these birds make them special, and even a reason to be the centre of this study, and these characterstics second the idea of concept and help in deciphering the layers of interior spaces and relating to the context, colonial architecture and tropical modernism.
