Into Randomness- A Book Studio near the Banyan Tree

The book studio in Kamatibaug, built near the Banyan Tree, is an informal reading space unlike the traditional libraries. On observing the foliage of a banyan tree one can observe the negative spaces formed by the leaves and the light enters through it. The concept is to break the grid which will bring in the light and view. This axial to non-axial shift in the spaces helps in breaking the grid. 
The book studio is lifted above the ground to give it a feel of lightness which is contrary to the massiveness of the banyan tree. As one enters the book studio they pass through a linear space consisting of posters of new books, books, newspapers and magazines. The person is free to move up to the closed reading spaces or he/she can move towards the banyan tree and read and sit under it. It is from the spiral staircase that the cuboids rotate from their position and grid starts breaking. These rotations in the spaces allow one to view the bandstand and the suspension bridge, the banyan tree and the river and also brings in light. The reading rooms are divided into three sections one being for elderly, other for the children and the third for the adults.
