In this we have design a steel roof structure. It began with understanding steel as a material and then understanding architectural principles to facilitate design. Resolving the design making representative drawings and then understanding the load and member design calculations for a steel structure and then working out the calculations for our design in STAAD and analysing it.
This is the first exercise that we began with understanding the evolution of material and structure through the documentary ascent of man. The complete detail portfolio, calculation, report and walk through are given in the link attached. The sheet shows the relationship between materials or things and their evolution with timeThis is a part of the case done on one world Trade centre to understand it's frame tube structural system This sheet shows the representation of ordering principlesThis is the initial pitch for the designModel testing to check load transferThese are final architectural drawingsSnapshots of SketchUp modelBegining of the load calculation.
