RETHINKING BANKING : POST PANDEMIC APPROACH

Planning and organization, furniture morphology with social distancing play an important part in post pandemic design approach. The SBI retail bank works with different departments in a double height volume, hence the existing site and columns play deciding role in all the scopes of design. Hierarchy of spaces, reducing intersections in circulation and way finding through visibility become design drivers. Three experiments are split into Zoning, Network and morphology. Iterations of each experiment run through Wallacei (evolutionary algorithm) are studied in detail and analysed to create fittest solutions possible, all the while design process being iterative.
