Elphinstone Estate located at Eastern waterfront of Mumbai withholds the memory of old historic activities, architecture & other spatial relations which users can still feel and experience as they move along the warehouses. 
The question of the hour is how we can return to the past, without forgetting the needs of the century in which we live?The past should not be detached from the present rather looked at how it can gel into the present conditions by adjusting to the new needs.
The project deals in re-adapting the site that had no clear route and exact destination to reorganizing spaces. The warehouses are not being broken down rather reused with a clear plan. The essence of its history is used as an opportunity to build an urban brand, thereby creating spaces for all occupations and age groups.  

Why not conserve and keep the memory of past and revitalize the historical spaces making it productive to meet current era needs?

Project Brief
There is a need to keep the memory of historical structures and their spatial relations along with reorganising them to meet the current needs so that people from all over the city can be a part of this place.
Concept Statement – The project proposes to formalise small scale heavy industries around these warehouses by giving them incubator spaces inside the deserted warehouses along with providing opportunities for market vendors and community space (eg. event hall) agencies.
