Mangrove Forest Community Center

Mumbai has a widespread of mangroves which remain unappreciated. The Koliwadas are the interlink between this natural layout to the urban fabric through their fishing activity. The project aims an integrative approach than a conservative approach towards mangroves by integrating it into economic and sustainable systems rather than creating a boundary to avoid human interaction. The involvement of Koli community would generate celebration of culture and nature and promote an interaction of the community to the Urban context. The design structure evolves through focusing on the details to sensitize the interaction of the built and the spatial space around it.
