Young adults in India are becoming more and more health conscious, taking up jogging, walking or sports of some kind. Residential townships cater to this need by providing amenities like jogging tracks, futsal courts, basketball courts etc. Mornings and late evenings are peak hours for such activities and it comes with certain compulsions like carrying a phone, water bottle, wearing different clothes and perspiration. The furniture of today (like benches) don’t respond to these demands and hence, a new seating solution is necessary. The solution can be applicable to outdoor sporting areas in residential townships across the country as young adults have similar lifestyles and aspirations. Their affinity towards brands opens up the possibility for a fitness company to maybe sponsor the proposed solution. Brands like Nike, Adidas etc. look for scalability, affordability and novelty. So the solution can incorporate current manufacturing processes like injection molding, dye-casting etc. and also future processes like 3d printing. Such companies also have factories in Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan making our country an ideal testing ground for a new product. By studying the ergonomics of the users and nature of townships, the solution can be grounded in context but also be reflective of the fitness industry.
