Kochi is the financial capital of Kerala which hosts the majority of the start-ups especially in the KINFRA and Kakkanad regions in Ernakulam district. Electronics Hardware Park at Amballur, Ernakulam, Electronics Incubator and smart city project at Infopark, Cochin, electronic manufacturing cluster at Kakanad are a few of the projects in the region which is estimated to bring in job opportunities along with housing demand. Kochi has been ranked the topmost emerging city in the country as per the latest study report of JLL. The site is owned by KMRL and is proposed for a mixed township to generate revenue.  A mixed  township is proposed in the site.
